i was in italy just now, and cujo switched to the map "peaks"? i have downloads turned on, but when my machine tries to download the 37 MB map file, it gets 1% finished and then gives up. and then it tries again, gives up, tries again, gives up and so on. when i leave the Join Game error, i get a message about an incorrect file and then the game quits.

i can see from the status page that everyone else made it in.. why won't my game download this map (the file is not called "peaks", either). is this a mac thing, jimmy?

i'm bummed; i wanted to keep playing.  Cry

end of line.

Read the PM I sent you on Sunday Arc about the Offical UO map pack.  Thats where peaks is - its not a custom.

Yes, many agreed that it was OK to rotate to Peaks, but then most people actually did not get it. We were all trying to DL it and most had same prob. Only a few were actually in game including BD who was the one that saved the day and rotated the server back off of Peaks which allowed the game to move forward.

There were many, many of us trying to DL at the same time (as evidenced by TS chatter). Could that be maybe why no one could get it?

Well, I'd be surprised if it was downloadable at all - it is supposed to be a part of your installation at this point.  Don't think it downloads like a custom map.

FWIW, after my post (above) that night, i installed the UO map-pack that aspyr released for the mac version of UO. but by the time i had done that, and went back online, the server had switched back to the regular rotation. so if someone calls up "peaks" again, i may be ready. id still like to see it, always fun to see new maps.
