I've seen this story done on The History channel and thru other documentaries.
It is one of the greatest stories of Soldiers doing a very hard and dangerous job, in attempt to save their fellow soldiers.
They mounted this raid because the rumor had passed to them that the Japanese were planning to kill the prisoners if they had to leave the area.
Can't wait to see the movie

looks like a good movie.  Don't know if it was added or not, but kinda get tired of having love stories thrown into True-story military-history movies.  Oh well, gotta take the good with the bad! Tongue

I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory not too long ago, and I must admit, I was completely dissapointed. Being a huge fan of the first film based from Dahl's book I couldn't help shake the feeling that Johnny Depp's portrayal of Wonka was no where near as interesting as Gene Wilder's take on the character. I will say that the children and their parents were very good in the new movie, but Depp's Wonka is what really bugged throughout (and the new songs... ugh). I like Tim Burton and Johnny Depp as much as the next guy, but they really botched this one. I am looking forward to the Corpse Bride though, hopefully that will deliver where this one did not.

in reference to the charlie and the chocolate factory, i would just like to say i did enjoy the new one. i agree about the new songs. also trying to have depp live up to wilder isn't really fair, i mean there isn't much chance of him replaying the character in the same way it would just be silly. Though I have never read the book I did really enjoy the old movie and have seen it more times than i care to admit. I would probably give it atleast 3 and a 1/2 woofs maybe 4.

Wedding Crashers.

While quite HIlarious this is definitely not one for the kiddies, or easily offended adults. But it is possibly the funniest thing Vince Vaughn has been in, and in my opinion that is saying something.

4 out of 5 woofs.

PS nudity language and adult content warnings are definitely earned by this film.

The Island.

Saw this yesterday, I thought it was pretty good. Obi-wan did a fine job as the lead. And the weird chick from Lost in Translation did fine as the attractive supporting actress. Story was interesting it was occasionally predictable, but still a good movie. (yeah i know their names but i thought that referring to the actors from their previous roles was a little humorous  Wink). On a side note Steve Buscemi is in this and does a fine job as always.

I give it 4 out of 5 woofs.

Movies I've rented recently (Netflix is da bomb):

HITCH: Waste no time - go get this one! Hilarious. Will Smith is one o' my favorite actors and he nails it here.

50 First Dates: Surprisingly not just a chick flick. If you can get past the occasional serious profanity (things we would !ban for) and the innuendo, it is extremely funny. Rob Schneider's character makes this movie awesome.

We Were Soldiers: Gripping. If that was realistic...  Cry Cry Cry Great movie.

Man on Fire: Denzel at his best. Marc Anthony = pansy.

And just finished watching tonight:

Napoleon Dynamite: UGH! WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THE HYPE OVER THIS MOVIE? Don't waste your time. Some funny parts, but painful overall.

LOL what are you talking about Joe, Napoleon Dynamite is hilarious.  Though I suppose it was aimed more towards us young punks.

As for new movies I just went and saw Batman Begins, and I thought it was awsome.  Great improvement over the last few they made.  Some of the fight scenes are kinda hard to see cause everything is so dark, but over all I'd give it like a 4.5.  (Plus its got Morgan Freeman in it)

Anyone have any comments about the Longest Yard, or Cinderella Man (this one looked good)  Have yet to see either wanna know if theyre worth seein or not?

Longest Yard

HIlarious, I think one of sandler's funniest and I own all his others so I have seen them all. It is probably the best football comedy ever. Even better than Necessary Roughness, but it was close. (Warning all sarcasm intended Wink)

4.5 out of 5 woofs.
