I remember that day well. Walter Cronkite tearing up as Armstrong stepped off the lander footpad and onto the moon.
Watching it now still makes my heart swell with pride that as a nation we accomplished something so special.

But today has a little more meaning than it use to.
Today is also my G-babys birthday....believe it or not that cutie is one year old today.
I already called her at daycare and wished her a happy birthday....

It was real bin, my dad was an engineer and Grumman aerospace at that time......
He designed and machined some of the parts for the Lem........ lonor landing module.....
Allot of NY family's where involved with it. I was 8Y's old and remember it like it was yesterday........
It was a great time for the USA.........
