HAVE YOU HUGED YOUR CHILD TODAY

HERE IS A POEM THAT MY DAUGHTER WROTE AFTER HER BROTHER PAST AWAY 7 YEARS TODAY. HOW WAS I TO KNOW
I SAW HIM LAST NIGHT.
HE GOT INTO THE CAR AND LEFT.
HOW WAS I TO KNOW?
HIS FOOTSTEPS WERE LOUD.
THEY WERE DRUMMING IN MY EARS.
HE SOUNDED AS IF HE WAS IN A HURRY.
HOW WAS I TO KNOW?
I DID NOT SEE HIM WHEN I AWOKE.
NO FOOTSTEPS DID I HEAR.
NO GROWLING VOICE OR RINGING LAUGHTER.
STILL, HOW WAS I TO KNOW?
IT NEVER OCCURED TO ME.
NOT EVEN LATER THAT DAY
WHEN THE "ATHORITIES" CALLED.
HOW WAS I TO KNOW?
FINALLY, AT THE END OF THE DAY,
ATHORITIES CAME TO TELL US,
WITH HEAVY HEARTS, THAT HE WAS NO MORE.
THEN, SUDDENLY, I REALIZED-
I HAD KNOWN IT ALL ALONG.
MY POINT IS NEVER LEAVE WITH OUT HUGGING YOUR LOVED ONE AND TELLING THEM YOU LOVE THEM. YOU JUST NEVER KNOW I DIDNT DO IT THAT TIME IT STILL HAUNTS ME TO THIS DAY

Sorry to hear about that Bin. I just had a son and he is 5 months old now and I try to always kiss him and tell him I love him before I leave him in the morning for work. I do the same for the wifey too. Great poem.

We have a thing in our house. I’m not going to call it a rule although at one time it was but not now. Never leave the house without hugging everyone, always wave goodbye.
The reasons we do it are 1) to show appreciation for the people you love. 2) If you never come back at least the goodbyes have been said.
Thanks Bin for sharing.
There is a Canadian boxer named George Chuvalo. Here is his fighting history
Pro record: 73-18-2 (64 knockouts) 1st Canadian Heavyweight Title: 1958 (KO'd James J. Parker)
Notable opponents:
Floyd Patterson (1965)
Muhammad Ali (1966 - for World Heavyweight Title; 1972 - for NABF Heavyweight Title)
Joe Frazier (1967)
Jerry Quarry (1969)
George Foreman (1970)
He lost 3 sons and a wife as a result of substance abuse. He now goes around to the schools and talks to the kids about abuse. If anyone is interested, check out his website.

Yes, thanks for the reminder. Thank goodness I've never had a problem with giving out hugs. Don't forget the other part: give them plenty of your:
TIME
Guilty as charged, but doing better!
