COFFEE ANYONE?

Since we're off topic...

I installed Leopard on 10/27/06 and must say I am quite impressed. It looks great and all of the above mentioned features are way cool. Was disappointed that Apple yanked wireless support for Time Machine, but I read that it's still in the works. JT, definitely check it out on your friend's MacBook.

As a comparison I happened to have a friend's HP laptop with a fresh Vista install at the house this past weekend -  I had to reinstall some things as the Vista upgrade appeared to have wiped stuff out. Let's see...I can start and shut down the Mac before Vista ever finishes booting. I've gotten so used to 2-finger scrolling on the Mac that it feels as though I'm stepped back to the invention of the wheel when trying to scroll in Vista.  Roll Eyes iTunes in Vista functions the same..when it's not screwing up.

Oh, yeah, Leopard's cheaper.  Shocked

My Mac runs XP right within the MacOS - and runs it faster. And that drag and dropping of files between the 2 operating systems can't be beat for convenience.

So, by buying a Mac I essentially upgraded my PC and got another computer in the process. How's that for cost effective?  Grin Grin Grin

Unleash your cool: buy a Mac, keep your PC, and carry them both in a 1 inch form factor, in 1 bag.

(Ya think I'm a true believer??)   Grin Cheesy Cheesy Grin

From the sounds of it, yessir I do. Joe, your cup runeth over with the Apple kool-aid and I am happy to hear it.

Question: You said you are running XP within OSX. Are you using Parallels or VMware?

Oh, and as for iTunes, 7.5 is supposedly imminent and it has: 'Better management of duplicate video and song entries will be included as well as a more stable experience for users upgrading their songs to iTunes Plus purchases.' So there's that.

Hansie,

I'm using Parallels. Our technology guy at church is total Mac as well (and thus every machine in our church is) and he tells me that I can get Parallels to run XP even FASTER if I install XP via Boot Camp and tell Parallels to run the OS from that partition. That way, he says, Parallels will speed up AND I don't have to re-boot the machine as I would if it were straight from Boot Camp. Haven't tried it yet (unsure of the migration procedure), but if I do and if it works will let ya know.
