Victory shall be mine!!!

So, I decided to try and play a little single player on CoDUO lately and whatever mission I try to load, I get an error message. It is:

"Couldn't register shell shock 'death' -- see console"

sometimes it has 'default' in the place where 'death' is also and I'm pretty sure there are others too

If anyone knows what's wrong or how to fix it it would help me greatly.  Any info would help because I know nothing of what the error message is saying.

Thanks

I have not had this error in single player.  However, I have had other bizarre "couldn't find/register" errors that I've almost always solved by removing my mods and maps.  Its possible that your single player is being interfered with by custom maps you've downloaded/installed.  I'd suggest you temorarily remove all of them and see if they were causing it.

Oh, and as for single player - EXCELLENT place to learn to shoot and tactics etc.  Not suggesting you need either of those - you constantly put new holes in my head all the time!  Grin Angry Tongue

I had similar errors back in the days of CoD.  I had a custom map that was changing someting so that I could not play certain missions.  Once I cleaned up my main folder (or UO folder in this case) all was good.

Without giving away all my secrets, I will say that I play single player about 3 times a week.  Sure its the same missions over and over, but I like to use it for shooting pratice.  I honestly belive that you will become better by playing single player.  I felt the same about MoHaa single player too.  ---- So peater, you just stick to multi-player, as you are a good enough shot already  Tongue

Well guys, I solved the problem by putting some things from the uo folder in a default folder while I played single player like you said and I got the right combination Grin.  So, if anyone needs the list of things to play single player, I got it.

And guys, to you saying that I shouldn't play single player because I'm "too good" already, I say - how do you think I got that good in the first place.  I mostly want to play single player while I'm waiting for the multiplayer server to fill up in the afternoon.

So, thanks for the advice guys!

at least you CAN play single-player.  Since my dad only has dial-up, I felt obliged to let him borrow my UO to play while I get my fix online.  I made it as far as the ridge in bastogne? maybe? where you have to set up the mg in the foxhole.  So, needless to say, I didn't get very far before i handed off the cd to me dad.

I never even tried single-player. Should I? Does it really even compare to multi-playa TDM??

Personally I like single player but even if you dont' think its totally awesome...  its a GREAT way to pick up all the skill one needs for multiplayer!  I use it for practice - I load up my favorite level and use whatever weapon I want to practice.  The bots are MUCH better shots than most MP players so thats good practice too.  I guess Im recommending it!  Tongue
