A few of us had tried to get into the server this morning and while its loading it says awaiting key code authorization until it finally times out. There has only been 1 person able to get in and for the rest of us we have had no luck. One had mentioned maybe restarting the server. Any help would be appreciated thanks  Grin Smiley

I can't either. It probably isn't anything that we can do to fix.

I've had this problem on multiple servers, with multiple people also being affected.  I don't know what the deal is, but its rather annoying. :/

Talked to our game server host a few minutes ago:

JT: A number of our players (but not all) have been having the issue of being rejected from joining COD4 servers (including ours)due to "Awaiting Key Code Authorization"... the connection attempt then times out. I was wondering if you had any insights on whether this is a server issue, client issue, or issue with activision servers?

You are now speaking with Siren of Support.

Siren: There has been an issue with activision the last few days
Siren: It's been just terrible
JT: I see. So really its wait and see and nothing we can really do about it?
Siren: Unfortunately
JT: okay. thank you - I just wanted to make sure so I can tell my players that its not my fault Wink
Siren: I understand
JT: thanks again Smiley
Siren: You're welcome

Well, I knew it wasn't my fault but I wanted confirmation.

Seems like the solution is.....  to wait.  Sad

Here is an email I have received from Activision tonight.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Activision’s Technical Support.  I'm sorry to hear about your problem.  Well it appears the master servers might be down.  They are not hosted at Activision and I'm trying to find the status but I'm not getting reply, probably due to holiday weekend.  If you did not have problems joining a server earlier in the week, it's most likely not your connection.

But either way I still think we should blame JT.  Smiley

FYI: Also kinda looks like JT might have been hitting on the Siren girl.. Tongue Tongue

Actually....  I edited in my name.  Since sox pays the bills technically it looks a little like HE was hitting on Siren.  Probably a guy anyway.   Tongue

I would have to be in game in order to do so.  Anyways why hit on someone in a virtual world, I have enough trouble in real life.

Our game server host posted this:

This weekend, Activision has been having problems with its master servers, leading to many clients being unable to connect to servers and unable to view the server list in-game. Many of our servers have also stopped accepting client connections because of this (and the way the game is programmed). Sometimes restarting the server repeatedly helps with this issue, but much of the time there is nothing we can do. As of Monday, we are still anxiously awaiting for Activision to fix these problem that we first noticed on Sunday. Please accept our apologies on their behalf if you are personally affected.

When all else fails, blame it on someone else.
