My desktop is acting up, so don't expect me in game for the next day or two.  I'm going to be backing up files in safe mode and then wiping my hard drive and doing a fresh install of Windows.  Hopefully, I can get Windows to work in safe mode.  On the bright side, I have all of Monday and most of Tuesday to get it fixed.

Good luck.   Smiley  Hope it works out quickly and relatively painlessly.

It would be innapropriate for me to not point out that I bet most people with linux or OS X systems have not had to do a total reinstall only months after buying a new system.  Just saying.

First off, I have had this rig for almost 22 months.  This is the first time I have considered this, and it only started occurring since I installed WaW.  Otherwise this system has been stable.

Otherwise this system has been stable.
Why do I find humor in that?

Best wishes for a successful procedure.

It yet successfully, but still need to test some software out.  As for the humor, got me?  Mac users have their issues too.

Thats quite comendable actually - most people have to reformat and reinstall their systems once a year I hear.   Instead of doing that last time I just bought a new machine.   Tongue

Mac users have their issues too.

Sure - if you call blissful security and no operating system issues an issue.   Tongue

It's not blissful security, but more like, why bother attacking an OS that only accounts for a small percentage of the market?  If you want to make a name for yourself you go after bigger fish.

As for no issues, you may want to look at the Leopard home page.  There are common issues posted there and Wikipedia, has several documented issues listed with it as well Tongue

The moment you use Wikipedia as a reference, the arguement is over.   Roll Eyes

We'll never agree, but as someone who has used both extensively, I prefer mac.  Fun to have this back and forth about once a year though!

That is why I pointed out that its documented.  Macs have their uses, but for the price of a low end Mac I much rather have a higher end PC that is easier to upgrade.

Please point out how macs are harder to upgrade than your basic PC.  Im curious.  Wink

I think we can exclude laptops from both sides of this though...

FANBOY!  LINUX!  HAX0RZ!

I have nothing to add, just wanted to prove a point Tongue

In other news, Windows7 is supposed to (i got word filtered Sad) STINK* less than vista... so you got that going for you Wink  (I'm gonna try it out here in the next few days or so, I'll let you know Wink)  The way I read it:  7 is to Vista like Win98 was to Win95:  Not great, but better.  TINKER!

*edited to satisfy the word filter Sad

FANBOY!  LINUX!  TERMINALZ!  PENGUINZ!
