I posted this on the mozilla boards, but haven't had a response yet.  But I've been having issues with FF.  On occations, I am getting this error message when I attempt to start up FF:  "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system."  The only way to close it is in Task Manager, clicking on the processes tab and closing it from there.  Has any one else run into this issue, or know a fix.  I have already reinstalled FF, but did not do a complete uninstall (kept my bookmarks and some other info).

The only time I've had anything like that occur was when firefox crashed or otherwise hung up - and I didn't wait long enough for the processes involved to stop going.  Does this occur often for you and is it after a crash of some sort?

It happens randomly.  At times I can start it up without issues, other times I have to deal with the issue.  The first time I thought it was because I tried starting FF to quickly after closing FF.  But now I can shut down FF, go to work, and when I get home it is not starting without going into Task Manager.

if it's a recurring problem, read this.
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox+hangs#Hang_at_exit

these are solutions for earlier versions as well, but i thought i read somewhere that this is a new bug of a similar nature, and there was a specific fix, maybe one of those or not, i can't remember

Looks like your fix is working for now, Smoke.  Now to get MSN working again.  I finally updated, and the live version won't connect.  But that is less irritating than having a browser that is not starting right.

Msn's client sucks - try http://www.pidgin.im/ .  Only thing I've not liked about it is the occasional slow file transfer, but xfire works great for that.
