Looks like some ppl may need to upgrade their OS for this one.

DICE had clarified on July 31 that Battlefield 3 game for PC platform will not run on Windows XP and won't support Direct 9 APIs. DICE Sweden's rendering architect Johan Andersson had shared the update via Twitter, the micro-blogging service.

If I still ran XP I'd be outraged - but since I don't this is a good move. 

I do not know many people still clinging to XP - though I still run it on my laptop.  Windows 7 is pretty good - I upgraded about 6 months ago.  I've handled Vista for all of a few hours - enough to know I didn't want to touch it.  Ever.  Even with your hands.

Maybe they'll make this thing 64 bit compatible too.

Nope!!  The graphics look awesome so far, I will probably be getting this one and ROHOS since it looks like they will be coming out around the same time.
