Nvidia finally released a new driver version 260.99 (only took them 3 months)
there's a cool new feature that they've finally put in the installer, an option to completely remove the old version of drivers before installing the new ones.  It's a check box that comes up during installation, called clean install.  I highly recommend doing this whenever you install new graphics drivers.

a couple of tips i suggest when updating graphics drivers.  Always check the manufacturer's site for driver updates.  for example, the last stable release for my video card was released in July.  Nvidia released newer drivers for the card a month or so later, and lo an behold there was a serious flaw in them, and caused alot of headaches for some (for others it was fine).  I have a EVGA graphics card, and I always check for drivers from them first.  They make sure drivers are stable before they will list them for download, and they also figured out something was up with that release, so they never listed them.  It seems as tho the problem was bad enough that it took nvidia 4 months to release a stable driver.  yes, you can sometimes get the newest drivers from nvidia quicker than the manufacturers site, but its not that long of a wait.
