Red Orchestra Heroes of Stalingrad
«

Has anyone checked on this game coming out in march? It looks cool so far, it's still set in WWII. It has some cool effects
in the game too, destructible environment and a bleed out system. It also has tanks in-game, nice for Hoffa.
The best
part is it's not a port, it's PC only.

I thought Red Orchestra came out in 2006? New version I guess? I forget things, so who here played the old version and how was it? I is the curious eh.

PC gamer magazine says it will be better than Black Ops (I know that is hard to believe
).
But as a true PC game, and not a console port, we might find it more to our liking. I'll likely buy a copy, but I have not seen the official release date posted anywhere yet.

Ok did some minor research:
Based on the Unreal Engine 3. First "major" game not made by Epic to use the engine. The good news is it has a well tested, well documented, well thought out netcode (and can, as far as the engine goes, handle up to 64 players).
The engine is made for server-streaming content and modding to be easy, as well as scripting and other fun server-side things.
Well documented APIs and other neat things to tinker with.
I only ever played a little UnrealTourney back in the day, but their engines were always smooth and fun for me, hope this is a gooden
edit:
instead of copying, imma just link the "confirmed facts" thread i found here. lazy!

Any ideas on what the required specs will be? Bigger, smaller, or equal to Black Ops?
