Some of the things promised with this game, I hope this happens.
This trailer shows some of the handling of the guns, no more red dot on the center
of your monitor lol. Looks like it will now take some skill to shoot from the hip.

So, i've heard that if you owned RO1 or have pre-ordered 2, there's a beta going on right now (might just be on steam?? ). anyone have it, or playing it??
It's being released sep 13th. I'm thinking about pre-ordering this weekend so i can play it a bit.

Looking forward to hearing how this is - I expect a learning curve!

Hears some actual footage of the beta, looks fun to play but the graphics aren't high end.

I played some UO about a month ago. The graphics are not up to current standard, obviously, but the game play was way above the current standard. I am more concerned with the gameplay aspects of RO than I am how pretty it is. I don't think it will compare to BF3 or something like that but the screenshots still look pretty decent.
I watched a few other RO beta videos and it looked like it was back to basics with a lot of rifles, actual aiming, and a lack of explosive spamming. A lot fewer gimmicks and easy buttons. Skill? Yes please!

I got it, don't think I'll be playing it much.
The whole game seems like they added over complication for no reason. Why bother leaning around a corner... it will just totally expose you, because you are supposed to use the built in "use cover" feature. Don't for get to uncover, cause you can't run if you are in cover. Also the lack of stance up stance down bothers me too. I will keep playing it in hopes that it grows on me, but so far it seems like a poor mod for CoD1.
I cannot play MP at all, as the server browser does not refresh or show any games. Seems this is a fairly common issue. Does anyone know if Steam will refund (I suspect that $ flows only one way with them). This game is making CoD:BO look solid.
