He pass away earlier this week.  I haven't seen much about it in the news or anything (for shame.. Sad) but a nice write-up is here:

Its sad, but that generation is becoming smaller and smaller.  As for not seeing any news about his death, it was at his request to keep the info from the public until after the funeral.

Also on that note, the last member of Doolittle's Raiders passed away too.
