Ok I am confused( no coment from you soxs) I have bf bad company 2, I was able to play it fairly well, now I am getting very low frame rate or lagg, I move very slowly with a lot of players on, I cant see the enemy and if I do I shoot a whole clip and he still knifes me! I am not sure which it is? I checked the can you run it thing smoke found and it says that my cpu dosent cut it I have a pentium 4 and I need a duo core. I thought mine was a duo core. I have a  8500 gt vid card, 2 gigs of ram and plenty of space. on the hard drive. So am I wrong in my cpu thinking or can I fix the problem?

Well, if you were able to run it fairly well before - what has changed in the meantime?   It could be something slowing your system down in general, or it could be game settings like textures, resolution, full screen vs. windowed etc (I forget the exact settings in BC2).  Take a look at your settings, tweak a few of them lower and see how that goes.

Does this mean it wasn't xfires fault?

Hey dawg
I have a p4 3.0 in my old comp wth a ati 4650 1 gig. I could play the game ok with 8v8 or sometimes 10v10,
but any more ppl the game slowed down a lot.  Also if there were a lot of explosions my fps would drop down
to around 10.  If they did an update recently they may have changed some things that ur comp can't handle.
The games not really optimized for a P4. I would listen to Jt and lower as many settings as possible, and make
sure the bloom effect is turned off.

Thank you all for the impute. I thought I had reduced all the settings I dont remember seeing the bloom thing. Obey thats isnt very nice, I can fix something some time   .

My main question now is a p4 not a dual core? If so then that is my biggest problem. Mad that is my issue the more players the more lagg or lower frame rate I get. So if my computer wont run that then bf 3 is out of the  question. Any one got a more up to date rig they can send this poor out of work dawg?lol

I do not believe there are any variants of the P4 that has more than one core, but I could be wrong.

Lets not mention things getting "fixed" around Dawg, it is kind of a sensitive subject.

you might want to chek out a windows app called game booster from iobit. (i think thats what it is) theres a free version available.  im on my phone right now in the mountains of PA or i would look for a good link for it.  check out majorgeeks.com for a good download link.  you might just wanna check for updated drivers for your video and sound as well.  i will be back home wed. evening if u need more help.

I have that smoke and it dosent  help but thank you any way, I did update the drivers also.  For all I know my internet provider has changed my service without telling me. I think though my computer just isnt good enough to run it when there gets more then  16 players. Thank you guys for the help
