probably not, i don't think he had anything to do with it, but my computer has given out on me. funny thing tho, i was using it just fine the other night, and afterward, decided to reboot (had some updated that needed to reboot)
so, rebooted, and, drum roll. nothin.
couple of days ago, i thought i smelled a metallic burning type smell in my basement (where my computer's located) and narrowed it down to that. but the computer was working just fine. not sure if i've rebooted then (i hardly ever do)
so anyway, i reboot and i get the series of beeps from the mobo, and nothin 1 long 2 short. and according to my mobo manual it says it's a graphics card/monitor problem. I don't have a spare laying around, so now i get to cash in on that llifetime warranty that evga has for the 8800gt. been plannin on a new build, but not just yet, so im gonna have to wait til i get this squared away....
lets hope for the best.

Hope you manage to fix that soon Smoke.

I also installed the recent Win7 64bit updates and it made my computer unbootable the first two times I tried them (a week apart). Windows had some sort of recovery thing that managed to work, after it thought about it for about an hour each time on bootup. Installed them one at a time and now it works. Are you sure this is strictly a hardware issue?

I wish it was just a software thing, but I know its a hardware issue due to the bios beeps. I gotta scrounge up a borrowed vid card hopefully

Somehow, it might have been me. I did sneeze the other day! They coined the phrase "Huff and Puff...and Blow your house down" after my sneezes.
